A dual polarized planar phased spiral antenna array

Abstract : The design of a non uniform planar array was carried out using a GA. Numerical simulations show that at low frequencies there are some problems related to the mutual coupling and the performance of the spiral antenna. Techniques to enhance the circular polarization and decrease the coupling were used to achieve more than one octave bandwidth. The array was designed for dual circular polarization and it can scan up to 30 degrees from broadside.
